Jeanine started the interview by presenting Anthony Catanese’s new book, Harmony Florida: Living With Nature In A New Town, and she asked Anthony about how Martha and Jim Lantz came up with the idea of creating what is now Harmony Main. Anthony responded by telling her how they came up with the idea of creating an environmentally friendly community. Jeanine then asked Anthony if Martha and Jim Lantz had come up with the theory of creating Harmony Main. Anthony replied that it all started with them creating a team of professionals to get involved in this special project of creating Harmony Main. Then Anthony says that he wrote the book to explain how, if you do things in a special way, it will have a payoff. He also states that in Harmony Main, houses have a porch to encourage people to interact with neighbors. Anthony also gives credit to Jamie Abel, who was the editor, and to Cherry Hack, who was the photographer of the book, for how they wanted the photographs to give a sense of what it looks like to live in Harmony Main with the animals, the wildlife, and the construction. He also mentions how the HOA and the community development district organize very successful events that draw people from all over the region because people want to come and see Harmony. Jeanine then asked Anthony to tell her something about him and how he became who he is. Anthony shares that he was born in New Jersey and moved to Florida because his father worked in construction and he wanted to be in real estate. He got involved in architecture and city planning; then he was involved in consulting in Hawaii, Alaska, and Florida; and then he became a teacher and became dean of architecture at various universities. Jeanine asks how people can buy the book, and Anthony says that it can be found on Barnes & Noble and also on Amazon and that the book has good reviews. Jeanine ends the interview by thanking Anthony for his time. Anthony thanks Jeanine back and tells how he hopes that the book provides a model for other developers, especially in Osceola and Brevard County.
